First Patient Treated at Silver Cross Surgery Center in New Lenox
As chief operating officer of Affordable Concrete Raising, businessman Kevin Ballard, 40, had little time to tend to his own health. However, he was forced to take a break when a large cyst on his inner thigh started causing irritation when his pants rubbed against the area.
After consulting with his physician, Dr. Shishin Yamada, Ballard discovered he was a perfect candidate to have outpatient surgery. So in December of this past year, Dr. Yamada surgically removed the cyst, making Ballard the first patient to have a procedure at the new state-of-the-art Silver Cross Surgery Center in New Lenox.
“I had a great experience,” said Ballard. “On the day of my surgery, I didn’t have to wait a long time for my surgery to start. And Dr. Yamada and the entire nursing staff were very professional and efficient. They explained the entire process which made me feel at ease. After surgery, I had very little pain. I recommend anyone who needs to have minor surgery to get it done at the Silver Cross Surgery Center.”
“I am excited to offer my patients, like Kevin, an alternative to have their less complicated surgical procedures performed at the Silver Cross Surgery Center,” said Shishin Yamada, MD, MS, FACS, general and trauma surgeon, who is also a member of the medical staff at Silver Cross Hospital. “By having his procedure at the Surgery Center, Kevin’s time away from home and work was minimized by eliminating an overnight hospital stay.”
