The Rehabilitation Institute of Chicago at Silver Cross Hospital Offering Free Heel & Foot Pain Screenings in May
According to the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, nearly 2 million people are treated for plantar fasciitis every year. If you suffer from chronic foot pain, find relief at the Rehabilitation Institute of Chicago at Silver Cross Hospital. Free heel and foot pain screenings will occur on Wednesday, May 3, from 1 to 4 p.m., and Thursday, May 18 from 4 to 6 p.m. at the Silver Cross Professional Building at 250 E. Maple Street in New Lenox.
A physical therapist will screen for plantar fasciitis, which is the most common cause of heel pain. Based on the results of the screenings, the therapist will provide tips for preventing plantar fasciitis and/or make a referral for other treatment.
“Signs and symptoms of plantar fasciitis are heel pain or pain along the bottom of the foot in the mornings with the first few steps after getting out of bed or after sitting,” said Kim Marth, Senior Physical Therapist at the New Lenox Clinic. “It can also be pain that occurs with prolonged standing.”
Participants will also be entered into a raffle to win a free foot spa. To schedule a screening, call (815) 300-6123.
